CNA – Hospice IPU – Nights

Only 3 shifts per week. Full-time night schedule (7PM–7:30AM) with every other weekend. Competitive pay up to $26/hour plus differentials.

JourneyCare Hospice is hiring Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) for our Inpatient Unit in Barrington, IL. This is a night shift role with a consistent, predictable schedule and competitive hourly pay.

Pay and Schedule

  • Base pay: Up to $26/hour - based of experience
  • Night shift differentials:
    • $1.25/hour for weekday nights
    • $2.50/hour for weekend nights
  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
  • Includes every other weekend and 3 holidays per year

Qualifications:

  • Certified by the state as a nurse aide
  • Maintains a current CPR Certification
  • List on the state aide registry with a clear record able to deliver care to patients
  • 18 years of age unless state law dictates otherwise
  • Valid driver’s license with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state requirements or reliable transportation preferred

What You’ll Do:

  • The Hospice CNA-IPU (Certified Nurse Assistant – Inpatient Unit) works under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient’s personal comfort needs at the unit.
  • The CNA is responsible for observing the patient, reporting these observations, and documenting observations and care performed.
  • Performing personal care needs after given a patient’s assignment and attending to his/her requests promptly.
  • Meeting safety needs of patient and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, O2 etc.)
  • Giving personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed lined as often as assigned
  • Reporting on patient’s condition and significant changes. Also aware of the caregiver or other individuals visiting with the patient and interpersonal issues
  • Adhering to the organization’s documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct
