Job Description: Team Leader – Cash Posting
Position Summary
The Team Leader – Cash Posting is responsible for overseeing the timely and accurate posting of payments and adjustments in accordance with department guidelines and basic accounting principles. This role provides day-to-day guidance to the Cash Posting team, ensures productivity and quality standards are met, supports issue resolution, and serves as a subject matter expert for cash application processes.
Schedule: Remote - Monday thru Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, 40 hours per week plus some overtime.
Pay $24 to $31 hourly

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead, monitor, and support daily cash posting activities to ensure timely and accurate application of patient and insurance payments, adjustments, and refunds.
- Post a high volume of payments and adjustments via electronic files, paper remittances, and credit card transactions as needed.
- Review and reconcile all payments to accounts, remittances, and batches daily; ensure team balancing and maintain reconciliation documentation and spreadsheets.
- Serve as a point of escalation for complex payment posting, reconciliation discrepancies, and adjustment issues.
- Identify trends or recurring issues related to billing, coding, or reimbursement discrepancies and communicate findings to management.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to cash posting staff and branch locations regarding proper application of payments.
- Assist with onboarding and ongoing training of team members; provide feedback related to performance and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and organizational policies.
- Maintain confidentiality and support continuous process improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements & Competencies
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two years of cash application experience; healthcare preferred.
- Prior lead or mentoring experience preferred.
- Proficiency in reading payor remittances and ERAs.
- Strong 10-key and MS Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
